Scholarship Fund
In 2010 we received over 60 requests for camper assistance. These requests were from families that fall generally into a few categories: parents with disabilities, single parents, families where one or both parents have lost their jobs, and from families that are in ministry. We were able to grant about 45 of those requests in mostly partial scholarships, totaling about $5,700. About half of this money came from the Alma Hunt offering, and the other half came directly from individuals and churches that new there was a need.
In 2011 we anticipate the number of requests to increase significantly. We’ve had to increase our prices, and the economy doesn’t seem to be helping a whole lot. Last year the assistance we gave was an average of about $125. For 2011 we anticipate the average assistance to be $175 for 60-70 campers. This means that we would give around $11,500 in scholarship assistance. We can only do this with your help. Please consider helping a child attend camp and have the experience of a lifetime. Any size donation will help, and all goes towards scholarships.
