Camp Piankatank is a non-profit organization. We are owned and operated by the Baptist General Association of Virginia. Since 1961 we have been operating as a Christian summer camp, and our mission has been the same, to teach children and youth about Christ and help them to grow in their personal relationship with him.
There are a lot of expenses that come with maintaining 90+ acres, 14 buildings, and all the activity equipment necessary. There are several ways that you can help us with all of these. First and most importantly, pray for us. Pray that God will continue to bless this ministry, and guide the leaders so that more children might come to know him.
Second, volunteer. Come help us clean up camp, lend your expertise to fix (or build) a building, or come volunteer in the kitchen. Whatever your abilities, we can use your help, and we would love your help. It truly is a rewarding experience to know that you have contributed to advancing the Redeemer’s Kingdom.
Finally, you can give to support the camp. We have a list of projects that is always changing. When we receive assistance with projects like these, it just means that we have more money to pay for new activities for our campers, upgrade our equipment, and keep the price low for our campers. We are not trying to make money, we are simply trying to be the best stewards of what God has given us as we can. In fact, most years we actually finish “in the red.” Below is a list of projects that are some “normal” things. Many of these are things that we do every year and expect, but with your assistance, the money that would normally pay for one of these things can help in other ways.
- Repair building roof(s)
- Building renovation(s)
- Bathroom repair(s)
- Repair the dock
- Repair/replace boats
- Replace sports equipment
- Inspect and repair ropes course and equipment
Feel free to call or e-mail if you would like an up-to-date list of projects. Gifts can be sent to our mailing address below. We look forward to partnering with you in reaching our campers for Christ! Thank you for your support!
